Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MW-C01 is a novel antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) developed by Mabwell that targets Claudin 1 (CLDN1), a tight junction protein overexpressed in various solid tumors. The drug utilizes Mabwell’s proprietary site-specific conjugation technology platform (IDDC™) for enhanced stability and efficacy, and incorporates an innovative cytotoxic payload, MF6, which is a novel camptothecin analog based on the Mtoxin™ platform. MW-C01 demonstrates robust binding to CLDN1-positive cancer cells, rapid internalization, and potent cytotoxicity. Preclinical studies show compelling anti-tumor efficacy in both cell-derived xenograft (CDX) and patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models as well as favorable pharmacokinetic and safety profiles in primates[1][2][6]. The mechanism of action involves targeted delivery of the cytotoxic payload to CLDN1-expressing tumor cells, leading to selective tumor cell death while sparing normal tissues.
