Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MW-III is a botanical drug product developed by Skingenix, Inc. for the treatment of burn injuries and cutaneous wounds. Formulated as a topical ointment, it is composed of natural ingredients including Sesame Oil, Coptidis Rhizoma, Scutellariae Radix, Phellodendri Chinesis Cortex, and Pheretima, with Beeswax used as a base. The drug is designed to promote skin regeneration and re-epithelialization in partial-thickness (second-degree) thermal burns. MW-III is currently undergoing Phase II clinical evaluation in the United States, where its safety and efficacy are being compared to the standard-of-care active control, silver sulfadiazine (Silvadene) cream.
