Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MW02 is a humanized monoclonal antibody that acts as an antagonist of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Its primary mechanism of action is the inhibition of VEGF activity, which plays a key role in angiogenesis. By blocking VEGF, MW02 aims to reduce abnormal blood vessel growth and leakage associated with diseases such as wet age-related macular degeneration. The drug was initially developed by Jiangsu T-Mab Biopharma and has reached Phase 3 clinical trials for wet age-related macular degeneration in China[1][3][4].
