MW150 is a novel, CNS-penetrant, orally active small molecule inhibitor that selectively targets p38α mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK14). It was custom-designed to modulate neuroinflammation and neuronal dysfunction by inhibiting the phosphorylation activity of p38α MAPK in activated glia. Preclinical studies have shown efficacy in both preventive and disease-stage therapeutic paradigms for Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. MW150 is being developed as a potential disease-modifying therapy for neurodegenerative diseases with unmet needs. Its mechanism of action is distinct from current approved or late-stage drugs for Alzheimer's disease[1][2][3][4].
