MW33 is a recombinant, fully humanized IgG1κ monoclonal neutralizing antibody that targets the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the S1 subunit of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. By binding with high affinity to this region, MW33 prevents the spike protein from interacting with ACE2 receptors on host cells, thereby inhibiting viral entry and infection. It was developed using B cell screening and single-cell sequencing from convalescent COVID-19 patients. The drug is being investigated for both prevention and treatment of COVID-19, with clinical trials evaluating its safety, pharmacokinetics, and efficacy in healthy adults and patients with COVID-19[1][2][3][4].
