MWN105 is a novel fusion protein drug under development by Shanghai Minwei Biotechnology. It acts as a multi-agonist targeting three key metabolic receptors: the fibroblast growth factor 21 receptor (FGF21R), the gastric inhibitory polypeptide receptor (GIPR), and the glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP-1R). By simultaneously activating these pathways, MWN105 aims to address metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes, obesity, and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). The drug is administered via subcutaneous injection and is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials in China for overweight/obesity, type 2 diabetes, and NASH[1][2][3][9].
