mWOTS-418 is an engineered oncolytic vaccinia virus developed by Bionoxx as part of its mOTS-400s series. The virus is designed to selectively infect and replicate within tumor cells, leading to their destruction through direct lysis and the induction of a systemic anti-tumor immune response. It is specifically engineered to express a truncated or mutant version of the Herpes Simplex Virus Thymidine Kinase (HSV-TK) gene. This modification is intended to enhance the virus's tumor-selective killing capabilities and may allow for the use of nucleoside analogs as a safety switch or to provide additional cytotoxic effects. As of the current pipeline, mWOTS-418 is in the discovery phase for undisclosed oncology indications.
