MWTX-4611

MWTX-4611 is a fully human monoclonal antibody developed by Mabwell Therapeutics for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. It selectively targets Aβ protofibrils, which are considered the neurotoxic form of amyloid beta implicated in the disease's progression. Preclinical models have demonstrated that MWTX-4611 significantly reduces protofibril levels and plaque burden in a dose-dependent manner. The antibody exhibits approximately 5-fold higher selectivity for Aβ protofibrils over monomers, a feature designed to overcome the "peripheral sink" effect associated with systemic administration, potentially enabling lower effective doses and extended dosing intervals compared to non-selective antibodies.
