MXB-22,510-SC is an investigational parenteral injectable drug candidate being developed by Maxwell Biosciences. It is the lead systemic candidate from Maxwell's proprietary Claromer® drug platform, which consists of synthetic, thermally stable, protease-resistant, low-molecular-weight peptidomimetics (specifically poly-N-substituted glycines or peptoids) designed to mimic the pathogen-targeting activity of the human innate immune system, specifically the Human Cathelicidin Antimicrobial Peptide (LL-37). MXB-22,510-SC is a broad-spectrum anti-infective designed to target bacterial and fungal pathogens without inducing drug resistance by directly disrupting pathogen membranes. It is being developed for the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) and hospital-acquired or ventilator-associated pneumonia (HAP/VAP) caused by confirmed or suspected bacterial or fungal pathogens. On May 5, 2026, the FDA granted it Qualified Infectious Disease Product (QIDP) designation for these indications.
