Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Mybacin is an over-the-counter (OTC) medicated lozenge developed and manufactured by Greater Pharma. It is formulated as a triple-action combination containing the local anesthetic amylocaine hydrochloride, and the antibiotics bacitracin zinc and neomycin sulfate. Mybacin is primarily indicated for the relief of sore throat, mouth and throat infections, and minor oral irritations. Amylocaine provides rapid local anesthesia to soothe throat pain, while bacitracin and neomycin act synergistically as broad-spectrum antibacterial agents to target causative pathogens in the oral cavity. Additionally, Greater Pharma markets a non-antibiotic formulation under the name Mybacin OTC, which contains the antiseptics 2,4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol and amylmetacresol.
