MYCO-005

MYCO-005 is a novel, second-generation psychedelic hallucinogen and a serotonin 5-HT2A receptor agonist, developed by Mydecine Innovations Group. It is an aza-indole analogue of psilocin, engineered to provide an improved safety profile by avoiding binding to the serotonin 5-HT2B receptor, which is associated with cardiac valvulopathy. This selective binding aims to make MYCO-005 heart-safe for both macro- and microdosing applications. The drug is under development for the treatment of depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Mydecine is also exploring a patent-pending dermal route of administration for a low-dosed, time-released, non-hallucinatory patch formulation.
