Overview

This is a combination therapy composed of **mycophenolate mofetil**, **prednisone**, and **epoetin beta**. - **Mycophenolate mofetil** is an immunosuppressive prodrug that is converted to mycophenolic acid, an inhibitor of inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase, leading to suppression of lymphocyte proliferation. - **Prednisone** is a synthetic corticosteroid with potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties, acting via activation of the glucocorticoid receptor. - **Epoetin beta** is a recombinant human erythropoietin analog, stimulating erythropoiesis by binding to the erythropoietin receptor on erythroid progenitor cells in the bone marrow, promoting red blood cell production[2]. This combination may be used in clinical scenarios where immunosuppression is required (such as autoimmune conditions) and where anemia, related to chronic disease or therapy, is present. The drugs have distinct but potentially complementary mechanisms: immunosuppression and erythropoeisis stimulation[3][7][2].
