myDC vaccination is an investigational personalized cancer immunotherapy based on autologous dendritic cell therapy. The approach involves isolating a patient’s own monocytes from peripheral blood, differentiating them ex vivo into mature dendritic cells (myeloid dendritic cells), and then loading these cells with tumor antigens before re-infusion into the patient. The goal is to stimulate a robust anti-tumor immune response by presenting tumor-specific antigens to T-cells, thereby activating cytotoxic T lymphocytes that can recognize and destroy cancer cells. This modality is being explored primarily for solid tumors such as melanoma and prostate cancer. The therapy is developed by Myeloid Therapeutics (or similarly named biotech companies focused on cellular immunotherapies). It remains in early clinical development.
