MyeliMMune (formerly known as MM-GVAX) is an investigational allogeneic cancer cell vaccine being developed by Meridian Therapeutics (with GVAX Bio) for the treatment of multiple myeloma and other malignancies, including pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer, and neuroblastoma. The vaccine is composed of two human multiple myeloma cell lines (U266 and H929) combined with a bystander cell line (K562) genetically modified to express granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF). Upon intradermal or subcutaneous administration, the local production of GM-CSF acts as an adjuvant to recruit and activate antigen-presenting cells, which process and present the broad array of myeloma-associated antigens to the patient's immune system. This stimulates a systemic, durable, and multi-target antitumor immune response designed to maintain remission and prevent disease relapse. MyeliMMune is currently in Phase II clinical development for multiple myeloma, often evaluated in combination with immunomodulatory agents like lenalidomide.
