Overview

MYELO-WASP is a preclinical-stage research program being developed by BIMINI Biotech, in collaboration with the Institute of Oncology Research (Switzerland) and Navegador Biosciences (Portugal). Supported by a Eureka Eurostars grant awarded in April 2026, the program focuses on the development of first-in-class small-molecule modulators targeting the Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome Protein (WASp) for the treatment of myeloid and lymphoid leukemias, with a primary focus on Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). WASp is a key regulator of actin cytoskeleton dynamics and immune cell signaling, and its modulation represents a novel therapeutic approach to induce apoptosis or inhibit proliferation in leukemic cells.
