Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MYFAIR is a topical branded generic cream manufactured by Zee Lab, containing a triple-combination of hydroquinone (2% w/w), mometasone furoate (0.1% w/w), and tretinoin (0.025% w/w). It is indicated for the short-term, intermittent treatment of moderate to severe melasma of the face. The therapeutic effect is achieved through the synergistic action of its components: hydroquinone acts as a skin-bleaching agent by inhibiting the tyrosinase enzyme involved in melanin synthesis; mometasone is a corticosteroid that provides anti-inflammatory and anti-pruritic activity to reduce skin irritation; and tretinoin is a retinoid that increases epidermal cell turnover and facilitates the penetration of hydroquinone.
