Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Myfungar Nail Lacquer** is a Polichem-developed topical medical device for protecting fingernails and toenails against fungal infection and physical or chemical damage. It is a hydroalcoholic, film-forming nail solution containing hydroxypropyl chitosan and piroctone olamine, also known as octopirox. After application, hydroxypropyl chitosan forms an invisible, odourless protective film that penetrates nail surface irregularities, stabilizes the nail structure, and acts as a physical barrier that can reduce fungal colonization and spread between nails. Piroctone olamine provides antifungal activity against organisms associated with onychomycosis. The product is intended for topical external use and does not require removal with organic solvents.
