Overview

MYH siRNA is a synthetic small interfering RNA specifically designed to target and silence the messenger RNA (mRNA) of the MYH gene through the RNA interference (RNAi) mechanism. siRNA agents consist of short double-stranded RNA molecules, typically 19–25 base pairs in length, with one strand (the guide/antisense strand) complementary to the target mRNA. Upon cellular uptake, MYH siRNA is processed by the Dicer enzyme and incorporated into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), where the guide strand directs RISC to the MYH mRNA sequence. This triggers cleavage and degradation of MYH mRNA, preventing its translation into MYH protein and thus silencing gene expression. MYH siRNA, like other siRNA therapeutics, offers high specificity and potent post-transcriptional gene silencing. The efficacy and safety profile depend on sequence design, chemical modifications to enhance stability and reduce immunogenicity, and the delivery system employed[1][2][3][5][6][7][8][9][10][13].
