myHMB Clear is a nutritional supplement ingredient developed by Metabolic Technologies, LLC, featuring the free acid form of beta-hydroxy beta-methylbutyrate (HMB). HMB is a naturally occurring metabolite of the essential amino acid leucine. Unlike the traditional calcium salt form, the free acid formulation is designed for faster absorption and higher peak plasma levels. It supports muscle health and athletic performance through a dual mechanism: activating the mTOR (mechanistic target of rapamycin) pathway to stimulate muscle protein synthesis and inhibiting the ubiquitin-proteasome proteolytic pathway to reduce muscle protein breakdown. It is marketed to enhance strength gains, lean body mass, and recovery from intense training.
