Overview

MYL-1401O + taxane is a combination therapy consisting of the trastuzumab biosimilar MYL-1401O (marketed as Ogivri, generic name trastuzumab-dkst) in combination with a taxane chemotherapy agent (commonly docetaxel or paclitaxel). MYL-1401O is a biosimilar of trastuzumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2). Taxanes are a class of chemotherapeutic agents that disrupt microtubule function to inhibit cell division. This combination is primarily used as first-line or palliative therapy in HER2-positive metastatic or early-stage breast cancer and has demonstrated efficacy and safety equivalent to the reference trastuzumab (Herceptin) plus taxane regimens in both clinical trials and real-world settings. The combination exerts its effect by antagonizing HER2 receptor signaling (trastuzumab component) and promoting cell death by microtubule disruption (taxane component)[1][2][3][4][6][7][9][10].
