Mynalic

Mynalic is a generic formulation of mycophenolate sodium (originally marketed under the brand name Myfortic), developed and manufactured by Alborz Zagros. It is an immunosuppressant agent formulated as delayed-release oral tablets (available in 180 mg and 360 mg strengths) designed to prevent organ rejection in patients undergoing kidney transplantation. Mynalic works by reversibly and uncompetitively inhibiting inosine-5'-monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH), specifically targeting both the IMPDH1 and IMPDH2 isoforms. This enzyme is critical for the de novo synthesis of guanosine nucleotides, a pathway upon which T- and B-lymphocytes are highly dependent for proliferation. By blocking this pathway, Mynalic suppresses lymphocyte proliferation and antibody production, thereby preventing the recipient's immune system from rejecting the transplanted kidney.
