Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MYND1 antisense oligonucleotides are preclinical-stage antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) designed to target and knock down MYND1, a novel plasma cell-specific long non-coding RNA (lncRNA). Developed by researchers at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Candiolo Cancer Institute, MYND1 is highly expressed in multiple myeloma (MM) cells and normal plasma cells but is absent or significantly lower in most other normal tissues. MYND1 shares sequence homology with U1 small nuclear RNA and interacts with key spliceosome components (such as HNRNPC, HNRNPH2, and HNRNPH3) to support splicing activity. Knockdown of MYND1 using these ASOs inhibits spliceosome-related gene signatures and significantly reduces multiple myeloma cell viability in vitro, representing a potential therapeutic strategy for multiple myeloma.
