Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Myo-006 is a mitochondrial-targeted small molecule being developed by MitoRx Therapeutics for the treatment of obesity and cardiometabolic diseases. Administered as an intermittent injection, Myo-006 functions as a mitochondrial metabolism modulator designed to restore or enhance mitochondrial function. This approach aims to address the underlying mitochondrial dysfunction associated with metabolic disorders, potentially offering a differentiated therapeutic profile compared to existing appetite-suppressing or GLP-1 receptor agonist therapies. As of early 2024, the program is in the preclinical stages of development and represents one of MitoRx's two core obesity programs, alongside the oral candidate Myo-404.
