Overview
MyoBeads is a **sustained-release biodegradable microparticle biologic** being developed by Regencor for patients with acute myocardial infarction undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention. The product contains **recombinant non-glycosylated human follistatin-like 1**, specifically the **hypoglycosylated FSTL1 variant**, formulated as microspheres that are infused through the infarct-related artery during PCI using the interventional catheter. Its intended mechanism is localized delivery of FSTL1 to the infarct zone to drive controlled cardiomyocyte proliferation, regenerate cardiac muscle, improve ventricular contractility, reduce scar formation, and prevent progression to heart failure after myocardial infarction.
