Overview
**MYOSEAL** is an investigational, locally applied prophylactic wound-healing product developed at the University of California, San Francisco for prevention of incisional hernia following open abdominal surgery. It combines a fibrin tissue sealant with metallic silver microparticles and is intended to be applied to a sutured myofascial incision immediately after abdominal-wall closure. The proposed mechanism is local enhancement of early myofascial wound healing and collagen deposition, strengthening the incision and reducing later hernia formation.
