Overview

Myostatin inhibitory-D-peptide-35 (MID-35) is a peptide therapeutic agent under investigation for the treatment of sarcopenia, a public health issue affecting older adults characterized by skeletal muscle loss. The drug functions by inhibiting myostatin, a protein known to limit muscle growth. It is being developed for non-invasive intramuscular delivery via iontophoresis, a transdermal drug delivery technology that uses weak electricity to facilitate the passage of macromolecules from the skin surface to skeletal muscle.
