The Myostatin x Activin A Bispecific antibody is an early-stage therapeutic candidate developed by iBio for the treatment of obesity and cardiometabolic diseases. Developed using an AI-integrated platform, this bispecific antibody is designed to simultaneously inhibit Myostatin (GDF-8) and Activin A. Both targets are members of the TGF-beta superfamily that act as negative regulators of skeletal muscle mass. By dual-targeting these pathways, the therapy aims to promote fat loss while preserving or increasing lean muscle mass, potentially overcoming the muscle-wasting limitations associated with current weight-loss treatments like GLP-1 receptor agonists. The candidate is currently in the discovery and optimization phase.
