MYRRHINIL-INTEST (Repha)

MYRRHINIL-INTEST is a herbal medicinal product developed by REPHA GmbH Biologische Arzneimittel, primarily indicated for the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders such as non-specific diarrhea, flatulence, and cramping. The formulation is a combination of three active botanical components: myrrh (Commiphora myrrha), coffee charcoal (Coffea arabica), and chamomile flower dry extract (Matricaria chamomilla). Myrrh acts as an anti-inflammatory and astringent agent; coffee charcoal serves as an adsorbent for toxins and metabolic products while also providing astringent properties; and chamomile extract offers spasmolytic and anti-inflammatory effects. In Germany, it is also utilized as a maintenance therapy for inflammatory bowel diseases, specifically ulcerative colitis, to prolong remission periods. It is currently being investigated in a Phase IV clinical trial for its efficacy and safety in patients with diarrhoea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D).
