Mytocel MSK is an autologous micrograft tissue therapy designed for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, specifically knee osteoarthritis (grades 1-3) and tendinopathies. The procedure involves harvesting a small tissue sample, such as ear cartilage, and processing it using Rigenera® technology to create a micrograft solution. This suspension is rich in cartilage precursor cells and mesenchymal stem cell markers, including CD44, CD90, and CD117. When injected intra-articularly, the therapy promotes regenerative repair of the cartilage, reduces inflammation, and alleviates pain and stiffness. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials at Taichung Veterans General Hospital as a potentially more effective and longer-lasting alternative to platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections.
