Drug intelligence / Profile preview
MZ-01 is an innovative inhalation solution developed by Chengdu Mizi Biopharmaceutical Technology for the prevention of postoperative pulmonary complications (PPC) in the perioperative period. PPCs, which include conditions such as atelectasis, pneumonia, and respiratory failure, represent significant risks for patients undergoing major surgery, often leading to prolonged hospital stays and increased healthcare costs. MZ-01 is designed for localized delivery to the respiratory system via inhalation to mitigate these risks. As of 2024, the candidate is undergoing Phase I clinical evaluation in healthy Chinese adults to assess its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile following single and multiple ascending doses.
