N-(1,5-dimethyl-3-oxo-2-phenyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-2,5-difluorobenzamide, also known as compound 2 in its primary study, is a fluorescent small molecule synthesized by the condensation of 2,5-difluorobenzoyl chloride and 4-aminoantipyrine. Developed by researchers at Periyar University and C. Abdul Hakeem College of Engineering & Technology, this compound has been investigated for its potential anticancer properties. In vitro studies using an MTT assay demonstrated cytotoxic activity against human cervical cancer cells (SiHa). Molecular docking studies suggest that the molecule interacts with the E7 oncoprotein of Human Papillomavirus 16 (HPV16), which is a key protein in the development and progression of cervical cancer.
