N-001

N-001 is a preclinical-stage engineered recombinant protein being developed by Neurocarrus for the treatment of acute pain, including pain resulting from surgery, tissue injury, and inflammation. It utilizes the company's proprietary APOLLO platform, which is designed to deliver therapeutic payloads specifically to sensory neurons. The N-001 molecule consists of three components: a targeting domain (C1 receptor binder) for neuronal specificity, a translocator domain (C2II), and an actin-remodeling payload (C2I). By modifying the actin cytoskeleton within sensory neurons, N-001 blocks pain signaling at the source. The program has received funding from the NIH SBIR program and is being developed in partnership with the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS).
