Overview

N-cadherin neutralizing antibody refers to a class of monoclonal antibodies designed to bind to and inhibit the activity of N-cadherin (Cadherin-2), a calcium-dependent cell-cell adhesion molecule. N-cadherin is often upregulated in various cancers during the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT), where it promotes tumor cell motility, invasion, and metastasis. In the context of pancreatic cancer research, these antibodies are used to block the CD133/ERK/Slug signaling axis, which regulates EMT and the invasive potential of cancer stem cells. By neutralizing N-cadherin, these agents aim to reduce the migratory capacity of malignant cells and potentially limit metastatic spread. While several clones exist for research purposes (e.g., GC-4), they are primarily used as laboratory tools to investigate the role of N-cadherin in tumor progression.
