N-MOG is a recombinant protein candidate developed by the Republican Research and Practical Center of Transfusion and Medical Biotechnologies in Belarus. It is based on the Myelin Oligodendrocyte Glycoprotein (MOG), a key autoantigen located on the surface of myelin sheaths in the central nervous system that is frequently targeted by the autoimmune response in multiple sclerosis (MS) and other demyelinating diseases. The protein is designed for use in immune-related research and the development of potential therapeutic strategies, such as antigen-specific immunotherapy aimed at inducing immune tolerance to myelin components. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
