Overview

N-Q11 is an engineered recombinant protein biologic developed by Neurocarrus for the treatment of migraine. It is designed to selectively target nociceptors (pain-sensing neurons) and inhibit the release of neurotransmitters such as Calcitonin Gene-Related Peptide (CGRP) and glutamate. The molecule functions by cleaving the Synaptosomal-associated protein 25 (SNAP-25), a component of the SNARE complex required for synaptic vesicle exocytosis. By utilizing a modified botulinum toxin-based delivery system, N-Q11 aims to provide long-lasting pain relief with reduced systemic toxicity compared to traditional botulinum toxin therapies.
