N040

**N040** is an investigational Thai/Lanna multi-herb medicinal formula selected from the MANOSROI III traditional-recipe database for potential treatment of cervical cancer. It is a chemically heterogeneous botanical extract rather than a defined single active substance. Preclinical work reported potent antiproliferative activity against HeLa cervical-cancer cells and tumor-growth inhibition in a HeLa xenograft model; *Caesalpinia sappan* was the most active individual plant tested, and brazilin isolated from that plant showed in-vitro activity, but brazilin is not established as the sole active constituent of N040. A published phase 1b study administered oral N040 extract capsules to patients with advanced cervical cancer who were not eligible for standard treatment.
