Overview

N0783 is a small molecule antagonist of Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) developed by Neuropore Therapies for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson's disease and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). TLR2 is a pattern recognition receptor that, when overactivated on microglia by misfolded proteins such as alpha-synuclein, triggers a cascade of neuroinflammatory responses that contribute to neuronal damage and disease progression. N0783 is designed to selectively inhibit TLR2 signaling, thereby reducing microglial activation and the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines. The compound is optimized for oral bioavailability and central nervous system penetration, aiming to provide a neuroprotective effect by modulating the innate immune response within the brain.
