N1087 is an oral solution formulation of low-dose minoxidil developed by Eurofarma Laboratorios S.A. for the treatment of female pattern hair loss (FPHL). While minoxidil is widely known as a topical treatment for alopecia and an oral antihypertensive at higher doses, N1087 is designed for low-dose oral administration via drops, allowing for precise titration from 0.5 mg to 2 mg daily. This approach aims to maximize hair density and thickness while minimizing systemic side effects such as hypertrichosis or cardiovascular changes. The drug acts as a potassium channel opener, which is believed to stimulate hair growth by prolonging the anagen phase and increasing the size of hair follicles through improved microcirculation and direct cellular effects. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 3 clinical trials.
