Drug intelligence / Profile preview
N30-201 is a proprietary nebulized formulation of s-nitrosoglutathione (GSNO), an endogenous tripeptide and s-nitrosothiol that serves as a natural bronchodilator and a stable reservoir for nitric oxide (NO) bioactivity in the human respiratory tract. Developed by N30 Pharma (which later became Nivalis Therapeutics), N30-201 is designed to restore depleted s-nitrosothiol levels in patients with obstructive airway diseases. In addition to its bronchodilatory effects, GSNO has been shown to increase the expression, maturation, and function of the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) protein. The drug has completed Phase I clinical evaluation in healthy volunteers and patients with mild-to-moderate asthma, demonstrating safety and tolerability for the treatment of reactive and obstructive airway conditions.
