Drug intelligence / Profile preview
N6L is a **pseudopeptide aptamer** that targets **nucleolin (NCL)**, a multifunctional protein found on the surface and within cells, particularly overexpressed in cancer. N6L binds and antagonizes nucleolin, impairing tumor cell proliferation, inhibiting angiogenesis, and normalizing tumor vasculature. It induces translational reprogramming in cancer cells, primarily by engaging the **mTOR pathway**, which alters the polysome-associated transcriptome and suppresses global protein synthesis while promoting translation of certain mRNAs. N6L's effects are particularly studied in **pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC)**. When combined with mTOR inhibitors, N6L shows synergistic anti-tumor effects. N6L was developed by UREKA Pharma, which markets it under the brand name NUCANT[3].
