NA-911 is an orally administered small molecule neuroprotective and neurogenic drug candidate developed by Biomed Industries (formerly NeuroActiva) for the treatment and prevention of stroke. As an analog of Biomed's lead compound NA-831, NA-911 is designed to cross the blood-brain barrier and stimulate adult neurogenesis, specifically targeting progenitor cells in the subventricular zone (SVZ) to facilitate the repair of damaged brain tissue. It aims to mitigate the neurological damage caused by ischemic or hypoxic injury and improve motor and cognitive recovery, with a therapeutic window of up to 12 hours post-stroke. The drug is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials.
