NA-931 (Bioglutide) is an investigational small molecule drug developed by Biomed Industries for the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes. It is a first-in-class oral quadruple receptor agonist that targets and regulates the homeostasis of four key metabolic receptors: insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF-1R), glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP-1R), gastric inhibitory polypeptide receptor (GIPR), and glucagon receptor (GCGR). By simultaneously activating these pathways, NA-931 facilitates weight loss, preserves muscle mass, and reduces adverse events commonly associated with current obesity drugs. The drug has demonstrated clinically meaningful weight loss in clinical trials without significant gastrointestinal side effects or muscle loss. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 2/3 clinical trials as a once-daily oral capsule for adults who are obese or overweight with at least one weight-related comorbid condition.
