Overview

This combination regimen, often referred to as Nab-P + Cb + PD1 + bevacizumab, is a quadruple therapy used primarily in the treatment of advanced or metastatic non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). It combines two cytotoxic chemotherapy agents—nab-paclitaxel (an albumin-bound nanoparticle formulation of paclitaxel) and carboplatin (a platinum-based alkylating agent)—with bevacizumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and a programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) inhibitor. The regimen aims to leverage the synergistic effects of chemotherapy-induced tumor cell death, anti-angiogenic vessel normalization, and the reactivation of the anti-tumor immune response. Clinical trials, such as those evaluating tislelizumab or nivolumab in this combination, have explored its efficacy in improving progression-free and overall survival compared to standard chemotherapy or triplet regimens.
