nab-paclitaxel + nedaplatin + bevacizumab is a combination regimen consisting of a nanoparticle albumin-bound taxane, a second-generation platinum analogue, and an anti-angiogenic monoclonal antibody. Nab-paclitaxel (nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel) functions as a microtubule stabilizer, interfering with the normal breakdown of microtubules during cell division. Nedaplatin is a platinum-based alkylating agent that forms DNA cross-links, leading to the inhibition of DNA synthesis and subsequent cell death; it was developed to provide similar efficacy to cisplatin with reduced nephrotoxicity and neurotoxicity. Bevacizumab is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that binds to and neutralizes vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), thereby inhibiting the formation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis) required for tumor growth and metastasis. This triplet combination is primarily being investigated as a first-line treatment for patients with advanced lung adenocarcinoma who lack specific driver gene mutations (e.g., EGFR, ALK negative).
