Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NaCl 0.9% solution, commonly known as normal saline, is an isotonic crystalloid solution used in clinical settings for fluid replacement and as a vehicle for drug administration. In the context of the Phase 3 CERTIFY trial (NCT05930613), sponsored by Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris, it serves as the subcutaneous placebo control. The trial evaluates the efficacy of certolizumab pegol (Cimzia), a TNF-α antagonist, in improving clinical pregnancy rates in women aged 18-40 with unexplained recurrent implantation failure (RIF). Saline is administered monthly starting five weeks before embryo transfer until seven weeks of gestation to match the dosing schedule and administration route of the active biologic.
