Overview
Nadivast-G is an oral fixed-dose combination therapy containing gabapentin and methylcobalamin, developed and marketed by Austrak. It is indicated for the treatment of neuropathic pain, including diabetic neuropathy and postherpetic neuralgia. Gabapentin, an anticonvulsant, acts by binding to the alpha-2-delta subunits of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system, thereby reducing the release of excitatory neurotransmitters and dampening pain signals. Methylcobalamin, an active coenzyme form of vitamin B12, supports nerve regeneration, myelin sheath synthesis, and neuronal protection, working synergistically with gabapentin to alleviate chronic nerve pain and promote healing.
