Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NAFB-002 is a therapeutic candidate developed by the now-dissolved Spanish biotechnology company Digna Biotech. It was designed as a small molecule or peptide antagonist targeting transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-β1), a cytokine that plays a central role in the pathogenesis of tissue fibrosis by promoting fibroblast activation and the excessive production of extracellular matrix. NAFB-002 was primarily investigated for the treatment of pulmonary fibrosis. Following the dissolution of Digna Biotech, the development of NAFB-002 was halted, and the drug is currently classified as discontinued.
