Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NailKALM is a topical antifungal lotion containing AMYCOT, a proprietary natural ingredient derived from the cyanobacterium *Arthrospira maxima* (Spirulina). It is primarily indicated for the treatment of fungal nail infections (onychomycosis). The active component, AMYCOT, works by disrupting the chitin and chitosan within the fungal cell wall, leading to the inhibition of fungal growth and eventual cell death. It is marketed as a consumer health product and is listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) as a complementary medicine. Clinical data suggests it is effective in reducing fungal load and improving nail appearance in patients with mild to moderate onychomycosis.
