Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nailner is an over-the-counter topical treatment for onychomycosis (fungal nail infections), classified as a medical device. It is marketed by Karo Healthcare (and by Kramer Consumer Healthcare in the U.S. under the Fungi-Nail brand). The product's mechanism of action involves the use of organic acids, including ethyl lactate, lactic acid, and citric acid, which penetrate the nail keratin to lower the local pH. This acidification creates an environment that is hostile to the growth and survival of fungi, providing a non-pharmaceutical alternative to traditional antifungal agents. Nailner is available in several formats, such as brush-on solutions, pens, and sprays, and does not require nail filing prior to application.
