Drug intelligence / Profile preview
NAL1242 is a transdermal patch formulation of glycol salicylate currently under development by NAL Pharmaceutical Group for pain management. Designed as a 12-hour extended-release over-the-counter (OTC) product, NAL1242 utilizes a specialized delivery system to provide sustained relief from musculoskeletal pain and inflammation. The active ingredient, glycol salicylate, is a topical nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that exerts its effects by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzymes COX-1 and COX-2, thereby reducing the production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins at the site of application. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
